Veteran Family Program

The Veteran Family Program (VFP) is a national program that supports medically releasing Canadian Armed Forces members, medically released Veterans, and their families. The services and resources of the VFP are designed to help ease the transition from military to civilian life and support the health and wellbeing of families during this time. To achieve this, the VFP provides enhanced information and referral services, as well as transition-focused core programming.

Transition core programming includes:

  • Care for the Caregiver workshops
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Shifting Gears
  • Information and Referral Services

Additionally, the VFP extends access to the Military Family Services Program (MFSP) to individuals medically released from service along with their family members. These services are accessible at all 32 Military Family Resource Centre’s across Canada, as well as through the Family Information Line (FIL) (1-800-866-4546), and www.cafconnection.ca
